Rice Mask Wash Off

My skin type is combination skin, with whiteheads on my T-zone area.

Rice Mask Wash Off, highly raved and best selling product from Skinfood.

As you can see, I'm about to finish this rice mask, finally! Took me about a year! even when I apply heavily each time. Usually i don't just stick to one type of mask, I have a few and the rest are moisturising and hydrating which can be used every day.
This tub cost RM39 ,
twice a week, it comes down to only RM0.375 each application.
cheap or what?

This is how it looks like.

It has a creamy grainy texture. The grains are not rough, very gentle to my skin unlike the coarse texture of the black sugar mask. But black sugar melts. Uhm.. I love both mask but I actually prefer the black sugar, feels cleaner.

Upon application. Forgot to snap the after pictures. >.<

This product's function is to brighten skin tone, moisturise skin and exfoliate dead skin. Well, it does brighten but no big difference. I think if you exfoliate the layer of dead skin and dirt properly, it'll certainly unveil a brighter skin tone as the layer dirt is probably the cause of dull skin tone. So if you remove that layer it'll become brighter, but not whiter. Well, not sure if my theory is right, this product is still good nonetheless. I heard from the SA the exfoliaters are actually crushed rice, but I doubt it, doesn't it becomes soft if soak in liquid after a long time? After some research from websites, it appears to be real rice. The texture is soft, like mushy broken bits of uncooked rice. It's really gentle to skin but because it's too mild, exfoliation is not quite effective. After wash, skin doesn't feel thirsty, and seemingly brighter. Not recommended for outdoorsy people, product is too mild. Recommended for people with sensitive skin. I suggest to use it as a daily gentle exfoliator or as a moisturising mask.

I like it because: skin is not dry and seemingly brighter.
I dislike it because: of the smell which I never learn to adapt to. Smells like perfumed old rusty cosmetics :( .

Price in Whimsical Needs: RM 39
Price in retail stores: RM44

Suitable for: All skin type. This product is mild.

Rating:
1- packaging practicality (o.75/1) There's a cap probably to seal its freshness but no spoon provided... make sure you wash your hands well before scooping it with your germ-filled fingers.
2- label description true? (0.75/1) it does serve its function but product is too mild to see dramatic difference.
3- usefulness/effectiveness (1.5/2)
4- Worthiness (1/1)

Total rating : 4/5

Buy or don't buy? - A worthy buy but to rebuy... I'd like to try other masks.

Review: 3 in 1 - MISSHA M Signature Real Complete BB Cream, Tony Moly Backstage Gel Eyeliner, Skin Food Choco Eyebrow Powder Cake

My skin type is combination skin, with whiteheads on my T-zone area.

Today I am going to do a 3 in 1 review for makeup.
First of all, I'm going to do a review on SKINFOOD Choco Eyebrow Powder Cake #1,
Secondly, TONY MOLY's Backstage Gel Eyeliner #01
Last but not least, MISSHA's M Signature Real Complete BB Cream Shade #23

First up!
SKINFOOD Choco Eyebrow Powder Cake #1
And yes! It even smells like Chocolate!

With flash

Without flash

The brush given inside the eyebrow cake is slightly slanted so that drawing the eyebrows would be a breeze

I like it because: easy to apply, great for those who are always on-the-go ! Handy and convenient to fit in our fancy shoulder bags too!
I dislike it because: -

Price in Whimsical Needs: RM 18 only!
Price in retail stores: S$16.40

Rating:
1- packaging practicality (0.8/1)
2- label description true? (0.7/1)
3- usefulness/effectiveness (1.7/2)
4- Worthiness (0.8/1)

Total rating : 4/5

Buy or don't buy? - BUY, of course!

Next up...
TONY MOLY's Backstage Gel Eyeliner #01 Black!

It comes with a brush (Unlike Party Lover Gel Eyeliner)

The creamy texture of the gel

As you can see, this eyeliner can draw any sizes and shapes easily
Plus the color is very black

The aftermath :)

In short, I like this product a lotttt!
It doesn't smudge and it lasts pretty long!
The description says its waterproof and I think so too!
It's kinda hard to rub 'em off my eye after applying it.
My friend is also currently using this and she loves this a lot as well!

I like it because: It wouldn't leave a dark mess under my eye :)
I dislike it because: The brush is a bit too short in my opinion

Price in Whimsical Needs: RM 43
Price in retail stores: S$25.90

Rating:
1- packaging practicality (0.7/1)
2- label description true? (0.8/1)
3- usefulness/effectiveness (1.8/2)
4- Worthiness (0.8/1)

Total rating : 4.1/5

Buy or don't buy? - I'd say BUY for peeps that are tired of the dark mess under your eyes after application of eyeliner. To further avoid panda eyes caused my smudged eyeliners, apply some powder under your eyes to prevent it!

Lastly,

MISSHA's M Signature Real Complete BB Cream SPF25PA++ #23

The watery texture of the BB cream

In my opinion, this BB cream is a bit to the moisturized type of BB cream.
Because my face is a combination skin,
after applying this, my skin would be a little bit greasy.
I think that this BB cream would be more suitable for normal/dry skin
Good thing about this BB cream is that it looks natural on my skin and provides a pretty good coverage.

I like it because: watery texture makes it easy to apply, looks natural when applied
I dislike it because: a bit too greasy for oily/combination skin

Price in Whimsical Needs: RM20ml - RM 58
45 ml - RM 110
Price in retail stores: USD$45.99

Suitable for: all skin types(however not recommended for oily/combination skin type)

Rating:
1- packaging practicality (0.8/1)
2- label description true? (0.7/1)
3- usefulness/effectiveness (1.5/2)
4- Worthiness (0.7/1)

Total rating : 3.7/5

Buy or don't buy? - Buy.

And for the last picture of the day...
The compilation of 3 into 1
The 3 in 1 (half)aftermath!

Spot the difference!
Left eyes looks bigger than the right eye, somehow..
(Thanks to Tony Moly's Backstage Gel Eyeliner, perhaps..)
With SkinFood's Choco Eyebrow Powder Cake, my eyebrows looks sharper!
Fact: Did you know that most women ignore their eyebrows?
"Eyebrows are the frame for the eyes and set the expression and mood of your entire face, and therefore are one of your most important features"
(Victoria Jackson, US makeup artist)
Notice that the left side of my dark eye circles are less visible?
All thanks to the MISSHA M Signature Real Complete BB Cream #23!
Good coverage, right? ;)

Review: Black Sugar Mask Wash Off

My skin type is combination skin, with whiteheads on my T-zone area.

Black Sugar Mask Wash off

A lid to seal freshness

Grainy texture of real sugar and this zesty smell I can't get use to the first time.

To use, wet surface of skin first. VERY IMPORTANT, else black sugar will feel coarse and dry on skin. The water helps in melting the sugar.

Apply adequate amount(about a 1/2 tsp will do for the face)

Start massaging in circular motions. This is to exfoliate dead skin and improve blood circulation to face. Leave for 10mins.

Washed after 10 minutes. Skin feels absolutely smooth!

This mask is by far the best exfoliating mask I've ever used. The result is instant! It's so effective in removing dead skin, skin feels smooth and fresh after use and slightly brighter too! I find that using this twice a week improves skincare absorption into my face. According to Skinfood Korea, it's their best-selling mask! (Malaysia's best seller is Rice Mask Wash Off)

So in conclusion,
I like it because: my skin feels baby smooth after use.
I dislike it because: of the zesty smell when I first open it, but later I adapt , I mean who'd mind when the product is so good!

Price in Whimsical Needs: RM 39
Price in retail stores: RM44

Suitable for: T-zone oily skin, Combination Skin or Oily skin . For dry skin, advisable not to use it.

Rating:
1- packaging practicality (o.75/1) Have to open the cap, the lid when my hands are wet...
2- label description true? (1/1)
3- usefulness/effectiveness (1.75/2)
4- Worthiness (1/1)

Total rating : 4.5/5

Buy or don't buy? - Definitely a BUY!

Review: Peach Sake Sunscreen Lotion SPF32 PA++ (UV Protection)

First product review from Whimsical Talks! :D

The packaging looks like the usual peach sake range by Skinfood.

Do you know why some sunscreen are named sunscreen lotion and some are sunscreen cream in Skinfood range of sunscreen?

There's a slight difference. For sunscreen lotion, moisturiser is added to it which makes it feels watery. Sunscreen lotion is not waterproof, so if you're using it for vigorous activities such as exercising or swimming, it's totally useless. The water washes it off completely. On the other hand, sunscreen cream are thick in consistency and they are waterproof. However, when it's waterproof, it means that it is likely to clog pores. Hence, sunscreen lotion or sunscreen cream, it is highly recommended to remove it with makeup remover or cleansing cream.

Does it look watery? Because it is!

Easy spreading due to its runny texture.

Slightly lighter tone after application.

I don't think there is anything special about this sunscreen apart from the fresh peach scent which encourages me to put this sunscreen on whenever I'm out. This sunscreen promise oil-control which I think it lacks. It doesn't feel sticky when applied on but if you say oil-control? Well, my face still oils like usual even after putting it. It's not waterproof, only suitable for indoor use, like in office and malls, places where you don't sweat at all.

So in conclusion,
I like it because: the scent!
I dislike it because: lack oil control.

Price in Whimsical Needs: RM 43
Price in retail stores: Not sold in retails.

Suited for: all skin type

Rating:
1- packaging practicality (1/1)
2- label description true? (0.5/1)
3- usefulness/effectiveness (1/2)
4- Worthiness (0.5/1)

Total rating : 3/5

Buy or don't buy? - It's still a buy! Love the scent.
